We were greeted with 33 cm of new snow at village level this morning (Saturday 01 February), unfortunately the high winds that have beset the area for the past four days persisted closing the top lifts until late in the afternoon.
Hopefully today will be the last day for a while that we’ll see high winds across the Niseko Resort Area.
Tomorrow morning (Sunday 02 February) is set fair and calm and if the top lifts open then great turns will be on offer across the ski area.
‘Superstition’ in Niseko Village has been untouched for 2 days, as has the area off the King single chair in Hirafu.
Rusutsu was excellent today with deep powder all over the resort and snowfall throughout the day. A day trip there tomorrow would be a good choice.
