Kuromatsu is one of The Orchards estate’s luxurious, 3-bedroom chalets, offering a holidaying family or group every comfort in a peaceful setting.

Kuromatsu means black pine and its kanji characters can be read to depict long life. Each Orchards chalet has its own distinct personality and guests at Kuromatsu can enjoy colourful splashes of modernistic art decorating the walls as well as the agreeable appointments that make for a comfortable ski holiday.

One of the comforts of Kuromatsu is being able to drive out of the cold straight into the undercover, first-level car space which leads straight to the ski and dry rooms, and laundry, and from there to the rest of the house.

Kuromatsu’s three generous bedrooms are also located on the lower floor. A stand-out feature of all Orchards chalets is a specialist Japanese-style bathtub – and if you haven’t experienced the pleasure of such a post-ski delight it’s definitely worth looking forward to. Imagine sitting up to your neck in hot water and surveying the night skiing panorama on the floodlit slopes.

The chalet’s living areas can all be found on the second level. The open-plan kitchen is beautifully equipped with tbe latest appliances and features a wooden bench bar for casual eating. From the generous dining table guests can enjoy their meal as they gaze out at magnificent Mt Yotei. The snug living area with expansive lounge seating is equipped with an LCD TV, international channels, a trendy Apple TV and wifi internet. Soaring ceilings spanned by impressive timber beams open to huge feature windows allowing light to flood in and framing the million-dollar snowy outdoor panorama, or at night the colour and movement of nocturnal skiers.

Kuromatsu Accommodation

Kuromatsu’s three roomy bedrooms sleep eight guests in generous, comfortable double or split beds. There are two bathrooms, one an ensuite, and an additional toilet on the second-level living area. It offers a concierge service to take all the hard work out of a holiday be it pre-delivering a grocery order, hunting down the perfect onsen, booking a sitter for the kids, making sure you get a seat at that restaurant you spotted or a post-ski massage.

As one of the Orchards estate’s chalets Kuromatsu enjoys a peaceful, picturesque location ideal for a family holiday and with stunning views of the Mt Yotei and the ski slopes. Being just on the outskirts of Hirafu Village it is within easy reach of all the action and with a dedicated shuttle service available you can hit the slopes or take in a meal or drink whenever the fancy takes you.
