Description

Unlike nearby Niseko, where numerous village streets span a large area of chalets, small houses and pensions, Rusutsu as a resort is dominated by the presence of its hotels. One in particular spans a huge area, and within the Rusutsu Resort Hotel you’ll find almost everything that any adventurous holiday-making group could want for a trip away – apart from the world-famous powder snow that only the mountains outside on its doorstep can deliver.

From fairground rides and a full scale amusement park through to shops, bars, restaurants and even a heated, indoor wave pool, the hotel boasts a marvellous array of activities. Stretched between a number of large Wings (North, East, etc), room types vary across the 231 available in this major development, which also offers a children’s play area, a comprehensive fitness suite and a full-service spa. In the summer, Rutsutsu is renowned for its stunning green spaces including one of Hokkaido’s most popular golf courses. However, in the winter months when over a metre of snow coverage can be expected throughout the Rusutsu area for most of the season, the golf course – as well as the amusement park – are closed to allow full-focus on the amazing skiing and excellent lift infrastructure of the resort itself.

With ski-in/ski-out access, there is no better way to make the most of Rusutsu’s powder-riding potential. Ski lessons and rental are available on site for those new to the sport, whilst experienced powder-hounds will revel not only in exceptional snow quality, but also within the terrain and easily accessible backcountry options that the resort has to offer. Including both a freestyle park and the world-famous SuperNatural Park (a powder-specific freestyle park built from natural features within the Rusutsu woodland) there is practically nothing missing from the area itself – and the Rusutsu Resort Hotel does its best to match that expectation through its accommodation options.

Rusutsu Resort Hotel Accommodation

As expected for a hotel development of its size, Rusutsu Resort Hotel offers a number of sleeping arrangements. Twin rooms and triple rooms (North and South Wings) are available, as are Junior Suites, Family rooms and Studio Twins (both North Wing). Smoking options for rooms are also available, and all rooms come with a private bathroom, free toiletries and a refrigerator. Another notable bonus is a 24 hour reception, as well as shuttle buses to and from Sapporo airport just a short two hour drive away.

Rusutsu Resort Hotel Location

In many ways, Rusutsu itself wouldn’t be a location without this hotel. Delivering almost all of the resorts eatery options (including 9 restaurants and 2 bar/lounges), as well as all of its activities other than the snowsports available, the hotel is spread across almost a kilometre of the resort area and includes everything necessary for a holiday. For something different, guests, can try a day trip to nearby Niseko: another fantastic ski area with a very different feel. At just over half an hours drive away, it’s a perfect addition to a stay in Rusutsu, however, many guests at the Resort Hotel find that just don’t want to leave.
