Description

Built in 1982, Pension Full Note was one of the first lodge accommodations established in the Niseko Resort Area – and the rest, as they say, is history. Today, Full Note is a Japanese-style bed & breakfast inn with a warm and cosy country atmosphere, and all the comforts you’d find in a Western ski lodge. The location is nothing short of sensational: it’s on the quieter end of the main dining strip, with a cool jazz joint/restaurant right downstairs.

Sleeps: 2 – 6 guests (6 max)

Pension Full Note was one of the original lodge accommodation options available in Niseko. The pension first opened its doors back in 1982 and has seen a quiet little ski town blossom into one of the most coveted destinations in Asia. Full Note was founded by local Hokkaido jazz man Syouichi Shimatani who ran the pension for 35 years with his wife Kasan. Though new Australian owners took over and refurbished the pension in 2016, the lodge’s jazz roots are still alive and well thanks to the Half Note jazz bar located right next door.

Mixing its original charm with a fresh coat of modern comfort and convince, not much has changed from the time the lodge was built: polished wood furniture and quasi-European alpine stylings, large shared men’s and women’s bathing facilities, and an expansive and homely lounge where breakfast is served daily.

The pension itself consists of two storeys. The lounge, shared baths and some rooms are on the ground floor, while upstairs you have nine guest bedrooms. The pension has one double room, 4 twin-share rooms, 2 triple-share rooms, a six-bed family room, and a traditional Japanese room with tatami (woven straw mat) floor where you sleep on top of futon bedding. Give it a try for a truly Japanese experience!

Wonderful place! We had the best four days at Full Note. The staff were unbelievably helpful – even dropping us at the station at 6am! Our room was cosy and comfortable and the food was great. It’s a real bonus being near the Yakuro Onsen too. We hope to return one day! Thank you Yu and team for looking after us so well.

The owner and staff were more than accommodating
Our family had the best time. Full note is in a great spot a very short walk from the main strip. Near by are a supermarket numerous places to eat. An international atm, gym, information centre and both ski and snowboard entries are less than a 10 minute walk.

The accommodation was decently sized for a Japanese style place. And was very warm. we had a very comfortable sleep and had no issues with our stay at full note.

    Highly recommended.
