Hirafutei Prince Hotel Twin Bedroom with TV | Upper Hirafu

One of the largest hotels in Niseko, the Hirafutei Prince Hotel has 165 guest rooms in a mix of Japanese and Western Style. Rooms are a modest size, with some rooms offering views over the ski slopes and private balcony onsens (natural mineral hot spring bath). The windows in the rooms open to allow fresh air and stunning mountain views.

The majority of rooms are Japanese style. If you prefer Western-style, then you will need to pre-book this, otherwise you will likely be allocated a Japanese-style room with tatami flooring (woven straw mats) and futon bedding (Japanese mattress on the floor). Some Westerners can find this style of accommodation a little uncomfortable as futon can be quite firm. All rooms have private ensuite bathrooms with bidet and free toiletries.

When you come off the slopes in the afternoon, you can safely store your ski and snowboard equipment in the secure ski locker room. The hotel has a very popular onsen overlooking the slopes that is free for guests to use, as well as an in-house gourmet buffet restaurant and cocktail/whisky bar. Also in-house are a small convenience store for snacks and other necessities, foot massage lounge, karaoke room and games corner.

Onsen over look one of ski run next to family lift. An unique experience as you can relax in the hot outdoor bath and watch skiers down below.
The sauna is a bit small and the water does not seem to be natural mineral water. But the location and few is great.

A great ski-in/ski out location onto upgraded Family quad chair. Staff with limited English, but very helpful (special kudos to Yumene-san). Breakfast was great with a wide selection – and on-premise, multi-bath onsen (including outside bath overlooking a ski run) was the icing on the cake. Our room had a small private onsen also, but the big one was so good we tended to go down there. Rooms are very comfortable but not luxurious. If you want super-luxury this isn’t for you, but it met our needs especially well.

We stayed here with family and stayed in a suite room on 6th floor with a private onsen. The room was good and no complaints. The best thing about the room was the private onsen. The private onsen is a real lone with a paper above it explaining about mineral content ranking etc.Its hard to get a modern hotel with such high-grade water of the onsen, in a room so this was excellent. My room had 4 of us, including 2 kids. Ski locker was good too and Ski wise this is ground zero ~ the access is direct from the rear of the hotel to the ski lifts. The only fault here is the food options are terrible. They have space but are caught in a time warp. It is like dining in a refectory at a high school in the 80`s. The food is good variety ~yet the buffet crowd is the target. I think if you stay here you want to have the onsen room or else just be a couple skiing without kids ~ as normal rooms sans Onsen are much older style and not so great. Managment here is small but very friendly and all staff excellent. All in all an old hotel but very nice stay despite how ugly it looks from the tired reception/lobby and exterior. Location for skiing is AAA.The bar next to the lobby is also AAA and staff AAA overall.Older Japanese gentlemen at reception who seems to be GM speaks English is excellent on all points too.One con is alot of Chinese/SE Asians come in mass and stay 3 or more to cheap rooms and once again you get some rude ones ~ however overall most very well behaved and not much issue as used private onsen.
