Offering a peaceful locale yet within easy reach of the action, Tsukinoki is a two-storey chalet which sleeps up to eight people in three bedrooms – so it’s suitable for groups of friends and two small families. Unique features include two cosy bunk rooms and a traditional Japanese tatami room.

The ground floor is the entry level and has the two three-person bedrooms. Upstairs is the master bedroom with its tatami flooring and futon bedding, along with the living areas. The living, dining and kitchen is configured in an open plan layout with a beautiful gas fireplace in between the dining table and lounge. Location

SETTING / ATMOSPHERE

Tsukinoki is located in a quiet corner of Lower Hirafu Village with incredible views straight up to Mt Yotei. Back around the front of the house and you can see the ski runs, which are beautifully lit up at night.

LIFTS / TRANSPORT

The house is just a short two or three minute stroll to a shuttle bus stop, so getting up to the ski lifts in the morning is a simple exercise. During the winter season, the shuttle runs at night too, so you can also use it for night skiing or getting around to restaurants or bars.

RESTAURANTS / BARS

There are several restaurants and bars within a five minute walk. More dining options are available a little further up in Middle Hirafu. You can also stock up on groceries as the property provides a free shopping trip to Kutchan.

Perfect for those wanting a more traditional experience sleeping on futons which are in the main bedroom. Then two rooms have bunks perfect for those with kids or young adults. Situated in Lower Hirafu where you have easy access to the shuttle that runs every 20 minutes around town.

Lovely accommodation in lower Hirafu. My family felt very comfortable in our home away from home. Our only complaint is that it is quite far to walk everyday to ski. Recommend renting a car or finding an equipment locker close to the ski lifts.
