Peak is a simple but modern ski chalet that will sleep two families or eight singles in a beautiful, tranquil part of Hirafu. The chalet is situated in a amongst a tree filled valley just off the main village. If you like the idea of a simple olden days ski holiday set deep in the mountains, but also wouldn’t mind all the convenience of being near all resort amenities like restaurants, bars, shops and entertainment, then Peak is the kind of place you’re looking for.
With two levels of living and high lofted ceilings, the open plan living and dining space gives a feeling of space, despite packing a lot into a relatively small space. There are four bedrooms in total, with three of these upstairs and one downstairs.
The living and dining area occupies a wing of this downstairs area, with a bar-style dining table for eating casual meals in. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal, but in all honesty the place isn’t designed for much inhouse catering. When you’re so close to so many great restaurants, use the kitchen for breakfast and light meals, and the rest of the time follow your nose out into the village!
Relaxing and spending your downtime off the mountain is easy in Peak as the chalet has beautiful views of Mt Yotei, comfortable couches, a projector for watching movies or DVDs, and wireless internet – so you can let your buddies know what a great time you’re having!
Peak has 4 bedrooms and can sleep 8 guests in comfort. All rooms have king size beds that can be separated to make the rooms twin. Each room has a small cupboard to get things out of the way. There is one bathroom in the lodge and a standalone toilet. There is also a laundry and drying room for your ski gear.
Peak is located just outside Hirafu Lower Village. A short climb up a small hill and out of the valley and you’re out of the wilderness and into the chalets, pensions, restaurants and bars of the village proper.
15 minutes walk up the hill and you’re at the ski lifts, although it’s probably easier just to jump on the shuttle bus and get whisked up there in style, ready for first tracks. This shuttle is free and can take you to any lift, or anywhere else in the village you want to go.
