Description

Parestra is a quaint, Scandanavian-style log cabin located in the picturesque Izumikyo 2 area of Hirafu village. Sleeping up to four guests it is ideal for couples, families or a small group. It is well maintained and nicely furnished making it a cosy place to come home to at the end of an action-packed day.

The snug, ground floor living area is simple but functional and features a fully equipped kitchen, and a comfortable dining and lounge area where you can relax and enjoy the wonderful views of Mt Yotei and Mt Annupuri as well as the sheer beauty of the surrounding snow-covered treed landscape. Unwind at night in front of the TV, which has satellite channels offering English-language news, movies, documentaries and more, as well as a DVD player. To keep you in touch with friends and family back home, the house is connected throughout with high-speed wireless internet.

One of the best features of the house is that it has a deep Japanese-style ofuro bath – soap up and rinse off in the bathroom’s wash area then slide into the tub and sit soaking up to the neck in steaming hot water. It’s one of the delights of Japanese life and ideal to warm up frozen extremities. The house also has a laundry with washing machine and clothes dryer.

Parestra Accommodation

Parestra has two bedrooms in a cosy upstairs loft area, which can comfortably sleep up to four guests. There is one bathroom which is shared between both rooms.

Parestra Location

Parestra can be found tucked away in the quiet area of Izumikyo 2, in the East Hirafu Village area, which is away from the hustle and bustle of the main village and perfect for those who prefer a bit of peace and quiet.

The closest lifts are at least a 20-minute walk away but there is a shuttle stop almost right outside the front door, and the bus will have you up and waiting in line for the lifts in no time!

The shuttle runs until about 9pm each night, so if you’re heading out for an early dinner it’s a quick trip into town to some of the best restaurants in Niseko, however if you’re staying out late to enjoy the Hirafu nightlife, you’ll either need to catch a taxi (keep in mind they stop at 2am!) or take the long walk home. f you don’t feel like venturing so far from home, there are some great restaurants in the Izumikyo area. Try a traditional local speciality of soup curry at Tsubara Tsubara, and for lunch or snacks Graubunden is a local favourite serving up fresh sandwiches and rolls plus tasty cakes!

A quaint little cottage which could have been quite good except for the stink bugs that infested the accommodation. There were 100’s of small bugs that let out a horrible smell. They were in our luggage and at night whilst asleep if they landed on you, you would have to get up and shower. Upon contacting the agent, we were informed this was an old place and what else could we expect, there was nothing they could do about the bugs. After perservering for a couple of days, we found we couldn’t stay in the place any longer and had to find and pay for expensive alternative accommodation. Very unhappy customer. Would never stay there again.
