Odile is truly a special property. It oozes style and designer chic, and then doubles up on comfort and amenity. The top floor living space set amongst the tree tops is the pinnacle of the property both literally and figuratively. Separated and joined to the kitchen by a long monolithic concrete table, this is one of the coolest and cosiest aprés entertaining spaces in Niseko. You will fall in love with this space, not to mention the plush rooms you will retreat to.

The stunning Odile is the first stage – or act, it could be said – of a twin chalet passion project by boutique developer 22eme. Fans of ballet may recognise Odile as the name of the black swan from Swan Lake. The building soon to be built opposite and mirroring Odile, will be Odette. As per the ballet’s story, Odile the black swan takes on darker, brooding characteristics than will its counterpart Odette.
Clad in dark charred oak on the outside, the next striking material that greets the guest rough-hewn concrete encasing the ground floor level and carrying on down an entrance passageway, before encountering a steel clad front door. Following the formal Japanese entrance with zen garden, a staircase zig zags up to the following floor, with full height windows inviting climbers to investigate the natural features and forest outside.
The master bedroom and an equally as impressive second bedroom take up either side of the staircase on the second floor. Up another flight of stairs on a split level is the third bedroom. Up the final flight of stairs to the upstairs entertaining suite, where a monolithic concrete central dining table runs down the centre of the level, partially dividing the kitchen from a raised lounge. Anyone using the kitchen can converse freely with others at the bench-style table, or relaxing into the lounge suite. This is the life!

The master bedroom is located on the three-storey chalet’s middle floor, with a king bed positioned before full-wall windows. There’s a cosy armchair by the window, and a work desk concealed behind the bed’s headboard. The en suite bathroom has a feature bath, shower, toilet and washstand, with an adjoining dressing area.

BEDROOM 2
The second bedroom is also located on the chalet’s second level. It comes with either a king double or two single beds, according to your preference, as well as a work desk for catching up on emails. A glass wall separated the bedroom from its en suite bathroom.

The third bedroom is located up on the top floor, along with the living and dining areas. This room has a king bed which can be converted into two single beds if you prefer. You also have a work desk for convenience, and an en suite bathroom separated from the room by a glass wall.

SETTING / ATMOSPHERE
Odile is nestled in the forest bound chalet enclave of St Moritz, just outside the main ski village. Less than a five-minute drive from Hirafu’s main streets, Odile is the perfect location to be close to the heart of it all, while enjoying your own space and pristine natural scenery.
LIFTS / TRANSPORT
Getting to the family lifts in Hirafu is a quick four-minute drive, or a hardy 10–15 minute walk from Odile. Management provides one complimentary round shuttle trip daily, so getting to and fro will be easy. There is also an inter-resort shuttle stop 700 metres from the chalet.
RESTAURANTS / BARS
Odile is only a convenient drive away from the heart of Hirafu, which is home to many of the best restaurants and bars in Niseko. Cosy izakayas, lively après-ski pubs, Michelin starred restaurants – you’ll find all these happily mingling on the streets of Hirafu. Make sure to book ahead to get a table at the most popular venues during peak powder season.

My family and I were a party of 6 adults and we fully enjoyed our stay at the Odile! The property is new, clean, modern and well-designed. The master bedroom and the bathroom are incredibly spacious. The dining room and living room common spaces were perfect settings for our Christmas dinner. It’s especially cozy with the fireplace on. Though it’s not walkable distance to the slopes, it was easy to book the complimentary shuttle to pick us up and send us back home everyday. The concierge through Whatsapp is very responsive and helpful. We highly recommend Odile!
