Asahi Lodge Kitchen and Dining Area with Wooden Floor | Izumikyo 3

For those in the know – yes, Asahi is that delicious Japanese beer… but it also means “sunrise” in Japanese. For those wanting a true Japanese living experience, this chalet’s tasteful design includes a traditional Japanese straw mat tatami room, including cosy futon floor bedding.

True to its North American design, the alpine-style Asahi Lodge is expansive, featuring an abundance of timber and stone. The snug ambience is enhanced with a stone feature wall in the spacious lounge room into which the TV and fireplace are set. An entertainment room is furnished with plasma TV and Netflix.

In keeping with the lodge’s luxury fit out, the Western kitchen, with its island bench and sink, is fully equipped and flows to the open-plan dining room with eight-seater table. A laundry nook is equipped with a washer and dryer and there’s a custom-designed ski equipment room for your gear. Large windows capture the snowbound landscape outside – a scene you will never tire of looking at. Views to Mount Yotei are the icing on the cake.

Asahi Lodge
Location

SETTING / ATMOSPHERE

Asahi Lodge is beautifully located on the winter wonderland outskirts of Hirafu in the exclusive, quiet Izumikyo 3 precinct, surrounded by other chalets in a forest setting with a creek nearby.

LIFTS / TRANSPORT

It’s a long walk to the lifts, however a rental van comes free with this chalet, so you’re just couple of minutes up the road, giving you a great chance of getting first tracks. Don’t forget your home driving license and a valid international driving license. There is also a free shuttle bus stop a few minutes’ walk away if needs be.

RESTAURANTS / BARS

This is one of the rare spots in Hirafu where there aren’t many dining options right nearby. But that’s ok because it has many other benefits, particularly that it is so peaceful. If you do want a feed, JoJo’s Café inside the Niseko Adventure Centre (NAC) is just 100 metres away; and the main Hirafu Village which has more restaurants than you know what to do with is about 300 metres away.
