MY Ecolodge is a high-quality budget accommodation option within a snowball’s throw from the Hirafu ski slopes, but without the Hirafu price tag (ie expensive). Stay within reach of all the fun and action of the heart of Niseko without blowing the budget or compromising on quality. Most other budget accommodation in Niseko is in older buildings and their glory days of the 80s and 90s are well and truly over. MY Ecolodge’s glory days have just begun.

MY Ecolodge has 68 rooms with 172 beds. All rooms are 14sqm, with the double rooms having queen-size beds, and the quad-rooms having bunk beds. There is also a large lounge room where guests can hang out and talk amongst themselves or make new friends with other travellers from all over the world. Internet speeds are super fast in Hirafu so with the help of free wifi internet you can get your photos and videos online and back to friends and family back home in no time.

There is an onsite café – MY ecoCafé – that serves “teishoku” set meals, and there are plenty of places to eat within walking, driving or bussing distance, but the option of a cheap, fresh healthy meal onsite is sure to come in handy more than once on your trip. MY Ecolodge has double and twin rooms, as well as quad rooms. The lodge offers a free ski shuttle leaving MY ecolodge, the Welcome Centre (Ace Quad/Family lift) and the Hirafu Gondola every 30 minutes.

My Ecolodge
Location

Setting / Atmosphere

MY Ecolodge is located in Izumikyo 2, which is a precinct on the edge of Hirafu Village on the eastern side. The lodge is alongside a forest, creek and pond in the shadow of Mt Yotei and with views of the ski mountain from the front. It’s a quiet area with no bars, just accommodation and a few restaurants.

Lifts / Transport

MY Ecolodge is on the main road into Hirafu, about 1.5km from the centre of the village. It’s about a 20-minute walk, but the lodge has a free shuttle that runs from 7.45am-4pm. The free Hirafu Village Shuttle runs until 9pm, and the stop is just 2 minutes’ walk away so you can use that after 4pm. The inter-resort bus also has a stop just outside.

Restaurants / Bars

There are about five or six restaurants within walking distance of MY Ecolodge and a whole lot more in central Hirafu. Take the bus to and from Hirafu until 9pm. If you miss the last bus back, you can try to catch a taxi (not always easy) or walk back down the hill to the lodge – there’s a nice wide footpath on the side of the road.

I truly enjoyed my 9 nights’ stay with My Ecolodge. I was here 2 years ago and very pleased by how much they have improved! The staffs working here are EXTREMELY friendly and welcoming.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast is included and they offer a good spread of Japanese staples and continental breakfast. They provide free pick up and drop off at Kutchan station / Welcome Centre. They also provide shuttle bus ride to the slopes until 4pm at every 30mins interval. If you miss the last shuttle, there’s always free Grand Shuttle that you could take 5 mins walk away that brings you to Hanazono/ Hirafu. Coin oparated laundry and snow gear drying room available.

I highly recommend this place and I couldn’t thank the team enough for making me feel so at-home :) Special shout out to lodge manager Caroline and Kyle!

PS. The soba restaurant serves one of the best duck soba

    Great Staff, easy accomodation.
Room, Amenities and overall good experience. Stayed twice in Feb as a snowboarder, this place has great facilities for gear storage so everything is dry the next day. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff.

A Km or so outside of town but the shuttle runs all the time.

We stayed here for 5 days as a cheap alternative in hirafu .It did not disappoint .we stayed in a 2 bed room with ensuite ,very comfortable , nice beds enough room for our snow gear. there is a huge drying room down stairs for board ,boots etc. .there was a little fridge and safe in room.
our friend stayed in the four bed with others was 2 bunks with shared bathroom ,he enjoyed except for the one guy was scared of the dark. The ecolodge free shuttle was terrific and if that wasn’t at a suitable time there was the nisekio unitied bus stop out front. or about 100metres up the road was the free grand hirafu bus stop . last bus was 2215 hrs . the lodge has a large common room with huge TV. but the usual Japanese tv no English channels.
The breaky was adequate ceral , toast bacon coffee, and the usual Japanese staples. it was a social place help full staff about 10mins in shuttle to hirufu gondola. u could walk back after some beers at pub in hirufu about 1/2 hr on the snowey foot path .
