Snowgum Lodge is one of the most spacious and homely lodges in Niseko with warm comfortable accommodation.

Snowgum Lodge is a located in the Izumikyo 2 area located in East Hirafu Village. The comfortable, homely lodge is managed by both Japanese and Australian staff who will bend over backwards to ensure your stay is an enjoyable and memorable one.

The lodge has plenty of space for you to chill out and enjoy your down time. There’s a cosy lounge room downstairs, complete with fireplace and a 50” TV as well as a vending machine. This a great spot for you to get together with your new friends and share stories of your mountain adventures. Upstairs is a second lounge area that also has a large LCD TV and a great selection of DVDs.

The lodge has its own commercial grade kitchen available for guests use, with all crockery and cutlery provided as well as space for guests to store their food. The lodge staff make regular trips in to Kutchan for groceries and are more than happy for guests to tag along. The kitchen is right next to the dining area which is another space for guests to hang out and socialise. Breakfast is served daily in the dining area and includes a great selection of eggs, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal and muesli, porridge, toast and a choice of spreads, and tea, coffee and juice – the perfect fuel for a day on the mountain!

The lodge also has some shared facilities with its sister lodge, Ramat, which is right next door. Ramat has an awesome bar that offers 3 beers on tap and a well-stocked liquor cabinet, as well as a TV, and free pool and darts. They also serve bar snacks between 6-9pm daily. Ramat also has a restaurant which provides dinner three time a week (at an additional cost) and the regularly changing menu can range from Thai, to Mexican, Japanese and even a good old classic – the lamb roast!

 

Snowgum Lodge Accommodation

Snowgum Lodge can accommodate up to 35 guests at a time in a variety of different rooms, perfect for singles or groups and to suit all different budgets. All room types, except the villa, have access to the shared bathrooms and have a small bar fridge, writing desk and chair and adjustable heating.

Twin rooms can sleep two guests in either two singles or one queen. Bunk rooms have 2 bunk beds that can be booked individually for single travellers, or the room can be booked as a whole for up to four guests wanting a private room. The Family room will sleep up to six guests in a dormitory style. The room has two bunks and two single beds which, like the bunk rooms, can be booked by the bed or as a whole for guests wanting a private room.

The villa is self-contained and will sleep up to 10 guests. It has four bedrooms, a kitchen and dining area, and a lounge room with fireplace. It also has a ski drying room.

 

Snowgum Lodge Location

Snowgum Lodge is located in Izumikyo 2, which is a little way out of the main Hirafu area. There’s a bus stop right out the front and the shuttle bus runs regularly between Izumikyo and the centre of town. For those hungry for first tracks in the morning, the lodge runs a morning drop off which will get you to the lifts just before they open.

There are several restaurants in the Izumikyo area, as well as the bar and restaurant at Ramat. The lodge also offers a nightly shuttle service for guests wanting to head into the village for dinner, dropping off around 6:30pm and then picking up around 10:30pm.
