Skye Niseko Penthouse Living Area View from Outside | Upper Hirafu Village

Skye Niseko, completed in December 2018, is Niseko’s most anticipated development. Boasting 105 bedrooms ranging from studio to penthouse apartments, it is located right behind the Welcome Center, with direct access to Hirafu’s Ace Center Four chairlift. A true ski-in, ski-out property, Skye makes the journey from slope to door as carefree as possible. From ski valet and on-site ski rentals to drying racks and storage, everything is geared to minimize fuss and maximize slope time.

Skye delivers off the slopes too: there is a restaurant, bar and cafe on site, and retail spaces for both snow gear and high-end winter style. Health-wise there’s a gym, onsen hot spring and spa promising Niseko’s only float tank. Each apartment, from Studio upwards, features a functional kitchen with a host of modern appliances, dining and living room seating, and en-suites. Rooms are tastefully designed with windows around the entire perimeter, and every apartment is laid out to allow all bedrooms and living spaces to take advantage.

This high up the hill, views are uninterrupted – with ski slopes on one side and Mt Yotei’s majestic peak on the other. All the major buses traveling into Hirafu Village stop right outside the Skye building so access to any part of Niseko is no problem.

Skye Niseko
Location

SETTING / ATMOSPHERE

There is simply no better place to be in Hirafu Village for access to the slopes. Skye Niseko sits above the Welcome Center (Hirafu’s transport hub), with major ski lifts on either side. Hirafu Village is the largest of the four Niseko resorts, with the overwhelming majority of restaurant and bar options and a good 50% of the resort’s terrain.

LIFTS / TRANSPORT

Both lifts and public transport are unbeatably close to Skye Niseko. The Welcome Center is the bus and taxi hub that services Hirafu Village and Niseko United. Free village shuttles and other resort shuttles depart from here, and throughout the village. Accessing the Hirafu slopes are easy with the Ace Center Four chairlift on one side, and Hirafu Gondola on the other.

RESTAURANTS / BARS

Skye Niseko has its own bar, restaurant and retail options so all your basic needs are looked after in the one spot. Head down Hirafu-Zaka to find pharmacy/grocery store Sapporo Drug (5 minute walk); and izakayas, A-bu-cha and Bang Bang, are a short stroll below that, and most of Niseko’s nightlife is less than ten minutes downhill. The walk back up will be a bit of an effort!
