Shiki & Koyuki are two duplexes in East Hirafu Village in the Izumikyo 2 area. Each duplex houses two three-level apartments, each comfortably sleeping up to eight guests. The apartments feature an open-plan living and dining area and Western-style kitchens – perfect for spending a quiet night in after a long day on the slopes. For in-house entertainment there is a huge flat-screen TV which is hooked up with English-language satellite TV, offering many channels such as news, documentaries, sports and movies, as well as a DVD player, and you can stay connected with the outside world via the high-speed wireless internet throughout. There’s a ski drying and storage room and full laundry facilities. Each room has individually controlled electric heating. Shiki & Koyuki Accommodation
Shiki and Koyuki apartments each have three bedrooms sleeping up to six guests. Two of the rooms can be configured as double or twin bedding. There’s also a tatami (Japanese-style woven straw mat) room with sliding doors that can comfortably sleep an extra two guests. The master bedroom has stunning views of Mt Yotei, as well as an ensuite bathroom and there’s a second shared bathroom for the other two rooms, as well as an additional toilet.
The Western-style kitchens are fully equipped, including a dishwasher, oven and microwave. The laundry has a washing machine and dryer.
Shiki & Koyuki Location
Shiki and Koyuki can be found down in the serene Izumikyo 2 area, providing views uninterrupted by highrise apartment blocks, and peace and quiet not disturbed by noisy revellers.
The main village is a good 20-minute walk away however the free village shuttle stops right near by on a regular schedule so there’s no need to hike up the hill if you don’t want to.
For local dining head to Tsubara Tsubara and try the soup curry – it’s a local specialty. Graubunden is great if you’re after freshly made sandwiches and rolls, or yummy cakes. Or, take the shuttle 10 minutes up the road and try one of the many eateries on offer in the main village.
