Setsu Niseko’s name is inspired by the artistic depiction of snow, the moon, and cherry blossoms – a theme embodied in the phrase “Setsu Getsu Ka”, taken from a Chinese poem and widely adopted into Japanese art and culture. The destination hotel was built by major Singaporean luxury developer SC Global who says the poem aptly represents seasonal change around which Niseko’s existence revolves, and also encapsulates the essence of Setsu Niseko.

The building is the largest condominium to be built in Niseko to date. Located on the main street running through Hirafu, opposite the Lawson convenience store and below the Hirafu Gondola, Setsu includes luxury hotel condominium residences with 190 apartments set within a six-storey building centred around an internal courtyard.

The standard of amenities and services is as you would expect to find at fine hotels, including concierge on hand for your every need, a range of dining and bar options on-site, play space for kids, and in-house car parking. The wellness center with both indoor and outdoor hot spring baths (onsen) and treatment rooms provide an opportunity to take relaxation to the next level, while a gym ensures you can keep your mental and physical health on track during your holiday.

We had everything we needed inside and outside our 2BR apartment. And even things we didn’t know we needed until we found them!!!
Amazing views up the mountain, staff were amazing – the only negative was that we didn’t spend enough time in this beautiful Hotel – next time!! 👌

Nestled in the heart of Hirafu, Setsu Niseko is a spacious hotel and apartment complex with a grand presence. Enjoying a prime location, it boasts direct views of Mount Yotei. Adding to its allure, the property features some excellent restaurants on the first floor, promising a delightful culinary experience that will surely pamper your taste buds!

Setsu Niseko is outstanding on so many levels. The apartments are ever bigger than they appear in photos and the views of Mt Yotei are E P I C ! I think the biggest drawcard is the building houses everything under one roof, including public and private onsen, yoga studio, gym, multiple restaurants, ski equipment rental… Sets Niseko really does have it all!

I love Mt. Yotei and stayed here on a family trip with my 5 year old son to enjoy the scenery of Niseko.

Inside the facility, there is a wellness zone and a kids’ room, with activities such as finding treasure chests, so my son and I had fun together. When I asked the staff at the front desk about nearby spots, she wrote me a note and we went to Ostrich Farm and Takahashi Farm.

That kind of service was also good. Niseko is not suitable for families with children. I often hear that, My son is active, so We had a great time during the green season. The attention to detail in the room is also amazing. The design was by Mokwei Wei from Singapore, who has been selected as one of the world’s top 100 architects. The building itself is beautiful, so please take a look! When I made the reservation, I asked over the phone if I wanted a room with a view of Mt. Yotei, but apparently it was only possible to see it from the front unless you were in a suite or higher. Our family stayed in Studio Yotei Tatami Room, and depending on the angle, you could see right in front. If you are concerned about the view, please let us know when making your reservation. There was a convenience store right in front of me Although it obstructed the view, Convenience is the best. Convenience stores currently close at 10pm. Is there a small number of staff? Sometimes the ranking for customers I felt that the service for children and customer service was excellent and I had a wonderful time. The hotel will be selected as a candidate hotel again next year. As much as you would like for a refill of Afuri. The kids were hooked.

    “First class resort”

I stayed at Setsu Niseko twice end of July and first of August 2023. Both times I experienced oustanding quality and friendliness of all personel during the wole stay. The Hotel itself ist first class with spacious appartement style rooms having everyting up to a combined washing/drying machine.

All looks brandnew and very clean. Super big wet zone (very unusual for Japan) with big bathing tub and rain shower. There is a gym and onsen (common and private) free to use. Breakfast offers a mixture of european and asien foods and an excellent espresso/capuccino from the italian barista. Further, there is a ramen restaurant and a convenient store across thd road.

This time, I stayed with my children and infants. The hotel staff was very responsive, and the rooms and common areas were very tasteful.

In addition, it was fully equipped with a kitchen, washing machine with dryer, Japanese-style room, and kids’ room, which would be great for families with children and infants. The only thing that bothered me a little was the lack of breakfast content and the fake stone wall in the garden of the public bath. However, overall it was very good, so I would like to stay there again!

    “Amazing property!!! Absolute 5 Star”

Absolutely amazing hotel. From pick up at Welcome centre to check out an absolute 5 star experience. Friendly welcoming staff. English speaking. Huge rooms. Clean. Immaculate. Well provisioned rooms (private kitchen and laundry machine). Great Restaurants. Great breakfast included (both Japanese and Western hot meal options). Great bar to relax and enjoy a few drinks. Onsen (both shared and bookable private options) Ski lockers. Rhythm rentals on-site.

Conveniently located close to everything (shops, restaurants, Gondola and a dot base).

Everything about Setsu was just fantastic. Can’t wait to return with the family at the next ski season. Staff just made this place a wonderful experience.

This is the best place you can share good memories with your family or , might own one of your own space to achieve maximum experience. It’s located at the most popular powder snow place in Kuchan, Hirafu, Niseko in Hokkaido, yet the place best place to stay all year round. It’s view is enormously beautiful. You can see Mt. Youtei at its best which is also known as Ezo Fuji ( a smaller version of Mt. Fuji). Staffs are very accommodating and very humble.

Great facilities including outdoor public onsen and selection of restaurant choices. Rooms with balcony that have view of Mt.Yotei (either Yotei or certain Hirafu blocks) are highly recommended. Equipped with dish washer/washing machine so suitable for long stay if needed. Easy access to slopes/main street, looking forward to winter addition of Rhythm/Ski Lockers and new dining options!

Beautiful new hotel. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Really want to thank Aya for her quick responses and answers. She helped book our shuttle pick up from Grand Hirafu Welcome Center and schedule other things. Everything was very smooth even to the drop off to Kutchan station. Breakfast was delicious every morning. Private onsens was the best after a day of snowboarding. Will definitely stay again.

    “Absolutely love it!”

We stayed for 5 nights in 2 types of room, the studio Yotei with tatami area and the one bedroom suite with tatami area. The rooms are quality, practical, clean and well equipped. Staffs are very helpful with everything, especially my pre-check-in problem (luggage issue from the airport).

Despite being just newly opened, the management, infrastructure and facilities are very systematic and efficient. Breakfast was amazing and that made the Setsu niseko the most generous hotel amongst all the hotel we stayed for this trip. The in-house ramen and dumplings restaurant was tasty, convenient and comfortable. The hotel is not ski-in/ski-out, but they have free shuttle buses operating throughout the day. They also offered free ski lockers in the bus waiting area which is convenient. They have in-house ski rental shop (rythm) which is great. Private onsens were rather small. We all (family of 4) preferred the public outdoor one much more.

The location of the hotel is great, just opposite lawson and toyota rent a car. The headquarter of the rythm, ski rental shop, is just round the corner within walking distance. A lot of food trucks nearby, so if all the restaurants are fully booked you can still buy takeaway from these food trucks and enjoy it in your room. Only one downside, there was no room service during my stay which is not too bad. I can’t finish the review without mentioning their great staffs – thank you Chinami for helping managing my luggage issue. Thanks to Lukas and Will for always be there and make my stay so pleasant. Thanks to Mari for looking after my bookings and thank you Thomas, you are a super concierge!
