One Niseko Resort Towers Bedroom with Tea Area | Moiwa

Surrounded by dense forest, you really feel isolated from the real world like you’re staying in a true winter wonderland. If you’re staying in the upper floors the views are nothing short of exquisite out over the forest, up the ski hill and out to the surrounding mountain ranges. Up here you feel like you’re staying on cloud nine, hovering above the forest below.

The hotel is especially good for couples and families, and being slightly out of the main resort areas, is a more affordable option. Moiwa offers everything for the beginner skier, or the advanced powder skier or snowboarder. After a day or two, intermediate skiers who want to explore the groomed runs may want to jump on a bus and head across the neighbouring Niseko resort of Annupuri, from where they can access the other three Niseko resorts.

Powder junkies will have enough terrain to keep them fulfilled for two to three days before they may find themselves wanting to head across and find some new terrain in the Niseko United group of resorts.

The hotel features a vast range of spacious suites from 47sqm studio suites (some with traditional tatami straw mat sitting rooms) to 229sqm 4-bedroom penthouse suites that can sleep two families. The 2-bedroom suites have a separate bedroom, kitchen, lounge and tatami room which can be shielded off form the lounge by sliding shoji (paper screen) doors.

Most rooms come with a kitchenette and basic cooking utensils for preparing light meals in. The rooms have nice bathrooms showers, but you’re well advised to go down to the in-house onsen for a soak.

One Niseko Resort Towers Location

Setting / Atmosphere

One Niseko Resort Towers is located at the base of Mt Moiwa and the independent Moiwa Ski Resort, and thus it isn’t linked to the Niseko United mountains. While the hotel itself is ski-in/ski-out for the Moiwa resort, you will need to jump on the hotel shuttle bus to get to or from the Niseko United resorts (note advanced skiers can ski from Moiwa to Annupuri, but not back again yet – you will need to catch a bus).

Lifts / Transport

It’s about five minutes drive to the closest Niseko resort, Annupuri, about 20 minutes to the next resort Niseko Village, and 40 minutes to Hirafu. To get to Hanazono you’re looking at an hour.

Having said that, if you get to Annupuri, from there you can catch the lift up to the top of the mountain and ski straight across to Hirafu, and catch one more lift up from there to get to Hanazono.

Restaurants / Bars

Note, if you want to enjoy the restaurants of Hirafu or the other resort bases, you will need to book a spot on the free hotel shuttle which leaves regularly and takes 30-45 minutes to get you to Hirafu. A small price to pay, especially given the quality of the accommodation at One Niseko. There is a very fine restaurant, Tura, on the top level of the towers, along with a cigar and whiskey bar.
