Cisco Moon Lodge is an older original Niseko pension which was beautifully refurbished in 2012, transforming into a luxury mountain lodge. It’s designed in a classic modern Hokkaido architectural style featuring a peaked roof to shed snow.

The main lodge has 8 bedrooms plus an 8-person bunk room, and can sleep up to 24 guests in style and comfort.

The apartment is in the sub-basement with a separate entrance. It has 2 bedrooms and sleeps up to 5 people, with modern kitchen and bathroom.

Cisco Moon Lodge is located in Lower Hirafu Village with a bus stop literally on the doorstep – the shuttles stop in the lodge carpark! The shuttle makes getting around the village a breeze day and night. However there is also space for car parking if you wish to hire a car to get out and see more of the area.

There is a large open-plan living area on the ground floor with modern kitchen, a fireplace, huge 60-inch TV with satellite channels and lots of mod cons. There is free wifi throughout the lodge, laundry with washer and dryer, and a ski locker and drying room.

Cisco Moon Lodge Accommodation

Cisco Moon Lodge has 8 bedrooms to choose from in a range of configurations. The biggest room is the Master Queen Suite which has a small living area and sofa in the room, as well as ensuite with a big shower. You can fit an extra portable kids bed in this room.

There are 4 Alpine Queen Rooms on the ground and second levels making them suitable for older guests or those with babies. The beds do not split into two singles, so there is only a double bed option in these rooms. They will fit a cot but there isn’t room for extra child’s beds. All rooms are close to bathrooms. All Queen rooms have large flat screen TVs and Apple entertainment system.

There are 3 Alpine Twin Rooms that have split beds, meaning they can be rented as twin singles or with a king-size double bed. They aren’t big enough to fit an extra child’s bed but can fit a cot.

For long-term bookings there is also the option to configure 8-person bunk rooms on request.

The apartment has 2 bedrooms and sleeps up to 5 people.

Cisco Moon Lodge Location

Cisco Moon Lodge is located in amongst the houses and pensions of Hirafu lower village. It’s about a 15-20 minute walk up to the lifts, but with the shuttle just outside only the keenest of fitness fanatics would choose to walk up in ski or snowboard boots! Save your energy and take the bus which will whip you up there in about five minutes. There are a half a dozen great restaurants and bars within a short walk, and all the rest accessible by the shuttle. If that wasn’t enough there are onsen hot spring baths just across the road!

The accommodations here at the Cisco Moon were great. My family and I have enjoyed our past two yearly ski trips to Niseko and after long hours of skiing, returning to the Cisco Moon was most relaxing. Beautifully renovated with large living spaces. A wonderful outdoor space where the kids can enjoy the mini slope all the while watching them from the living room.
