Amo 54 TV Room | Upper Wadano

AMO 54 features warm, spacious rooms and expansive living areas, including a fun and expansive games/media room, making this a wonderful place to spend time after you brush the powder snow off and retreat inside. But AMO 54 isn’t all style over substance – it’s right across the road from a quad-ski lift with kids slope in the prestigious Wadano Woods precinct. This little corner of Hakuba’s main village is filled with old-growth cypress and cedar trees and has a real high-end ski resort feel. There are also several very nice little cafes and restaurants in the area.

From the moment you open the huge timber door, it’s clear that no expense has been spared on quality build, fit out and luxury amenities. The main living area alongside the kitchen features a lovely lounge surrounding a gas fireplace with floor-to-ceiling windows capturing the forest setting with views out to the ski slope. A unique petrified-wood dining table adds a special touch to the dining experience.

A feature that may appeal to many is that there is actually no TV in this area, maximising the opportunity for human interaction without electronic distraction. Downstairs however you can get you and the kids can get a technological fix in the dedicated media room complete with beanbags, Apple TV and Netflix. There’s also a ping-pong table down here for more fun – oh, and a foosball table alongside the upstairs living area!

AMO 54
Location

SETTING / ATMOSPHERE

AMO 54 is located right alongside the Sakka Quad lift and family ski slope. There are a few hotels and facilities in the immediate neighborhood, and plenty of woodlands to still enjoy natural views from the lodge.

LIFTS / TRANSPORT

The Sakka Lift Point is two minutes away (practically across the road!), while the Kokusai Lift Point is a sort drive away. Several shuttle stops are a quick walk away if you’d like to access one of the more distant resorts. Management provides a free shuttle ride to the ski fields daily.

RESTAURANTS / BARS

Some delicious restaurants are in the immediate vicinity, with Wagyu Kobeya and Sakura Japanese Dining some great Japanese options. Meanwhile, Azekura onsen is a very short walk away – try this traditional Japanese hot spring to unwind after a hard day on the slopes. The property offers a free daily shuttle ride to the local supermarket, making cooking at the chalet an option, too.

Amo 54 is a magnificent villa. It’s walking distance to the lifts which makes it the perfect location. Stepping inside the lower floor has an awesome games room and upstairs the living area is exquisite – a big fire place, surrounded with floor-to-ceiling glass, looking out to the mountain beyond. A lovely equipped kitchen, indoor dining area and another little landing for outdoor meals. WOW what a magnificent villa!

The interiors really make this chalet. Soft pastels with lovely wall paper throughout the property. It has a fun yet comfortable vibe and somewhere you could stay a week or two and be super comfortable. Plus the ping pong table and foosball are great for kids along with the bunk room. Great location in one of the hottest neighbourhoods in Hakuba.
