Niseko’s hottest restaurant and bar, The Barn, was packed wall-to-wall last night with revellers jiving to the international sounds of Parisian-electro-jazz outfit, No Jazz.

With influences from jazzy European dance to tribal African rhythms, No Jazz was a welcome international addition to Hirafu’s already vibrant nightlife – with The Barn providing surprisingly near-perfect acoustics and an ideal atmosphere for the scorching performance.

The quirky French four-piece had Hirafu live music fans dancing the night away with their combination of unique, tight musicianship, vibrant energy, and comedy

The groovy No Jazz returned to the stage after intermission, as tables and chairs were cleared to convert The Barn’s restaurant into a jam-packed dance floor. By the end of the gig, fans were whipped into a frenzy, chanting the band’s name for an encore.

A hit in Europe with three albums – also playing with the likes of Earth, Wind & Fire and Stevie Wonder – No Jazz will play three more gigs at The Barn before heading back to Paris, taking to the stage tonight (February 17), tomorrow (February 18), and Friday (February 19).

All shows start at 9.30pm, and tickets are available by reservation or at the door for ¥3000, including one free drink. Early dinner sittings are from 6pm.

For reservations call The Barn on 0136 23 26 03, or email [email protected].
