Maiko-san is off on a spring road trip to Asahidake today, so it’s Yogi here filling in the gaps!

Unfortunately the weather gods haven’t given me any good news to report on the snow front. After a good little powder day yesterday the taps turned off and we’ve got no new snowfall to report this morning. In fact, it looks like we’re going to get a torrential rain storm with temps well above 0 tonight so it will be interesting to see how that affects the snow on the mountain and around town.

It has warmed up a bit with winds from the southwest, but it should still be nice and soft up there this morning, particularly at higher elevations. And of course if you don’t mind doing the hard yards, there will be endless fresh powder lines to be had out in the backcountry. You’ll need to get out there today because it will be a different story tomorrow.

Fingers crossed tonight’s rain will fall as snow up high and we’ll have some fresh tracks tomorrow. Have fun!

– Yogi :)
