By 22nd February 2009August 27th, 2013

Snow storms and bad weather disrupted trains and planes in Hokkaido on Saturday as a low pressure system developed in northern Japan.

In Hokkaido, more than 270 train runs connecting Sapporo, Wakkanai and Abashiri were suspended because of heavy snow, according to Hokkaido Railway Co.

Since Friday, Niseko has received three consecutive days of over 30cms of snow.

More than 140 flights to and from New Chitose International Airport have been canceled.

Snow lovers have been treated to a great week of powder turns as tracks are filled in soon after they are laid.
