PARISIAN nu-jazz five-piece, NoJazz, have come to rock Niseko again this year.
Even though last night’s performance was considered by them to be its ‘warm-up’ gig, it was sensationally good. And I’m not even a fan of jazz music.
The rhythm and beats were hypnotic, enchanting everyone into melodic trance. The trumpet and saxophone were amazing, and I’m starting to run out of superlatives to use.
Summed up, it was a great night out and judging by the way everybody else in The Barn was jumping around, I’d say I wasn’t alone in enjoying it.
NoJazz are playing February 2–4 from 9pm at The Barn in Hirafu. They are also playing a much larger gig at Niseko Hilton Saturday the 5th of February. Tickets are ¥2,000 (presale tickets for The Hilton are ¥1500) and considering how much fun last night was, it was a bargain.
