Niseko Village joins resort-opening party

By 8th December 2009August 27th, 2013

NISEKO Village – a.k.a Higashiyama – officially opened today, with plenty of skiers and boarders rushing to the resort early for first tracks at almost six weeks worth of accumulated powder.

Every Niseko United resort is now running lifts, with Niseko Village’s Gondola and the Country Road Chair both open for business. However, there was still not quite enough snow coverage to allow for skiing and boarding to the bottom – which is a similar story across all resorts currently.

Meanwhile, Grand Hirafu and Hanazono have recently opened more of their lifts.

The Ace #2 and #3 lifts are running in Hirafu, along with the Gondola, King Triple Hooded and the Swinging Monkey.

Hanazono recently opened up its #3 lift, offering some great early, untracked rides of the Youtei Sunset run after the 30cm of snowfall we’ve had in the past 48 hours.

Annupuri has plenty of access to its terrain up for grabs at the moment, with the Jumbo #1, #2 and #3 all open, along with the Gondola.

Lift openings are subject to change and weather conditions, so check the latest lift information at www.niseko.ne.jp/en/weather.html.
