Niseko Snow Report & Forecast 29-30 January 2014

By 29th January 2014June 28th, 2014Niseko Snow Report

A cold day today (Wednesday 29 January) across the Niseko Resort Area with temperatures down to -12 C, colder when the winds picked up.

But with the colder temperatures came 19 cm of light snow and long periods of sunshine making for great views and powder turns all day.

Strong winds up to 70 kmh at the top of the mountain and a rise in the freezing level to 800 m with the possibility of light rain is forecast for tomorrow morning (Thursday 30 January), but it’s snowing lightly and the mercury is still well below zero at the moment.

Fingers crossed it stays cold and calm.

The quad chair at Moiwa didn’t open until 12.35 pm this afternoon (Wednesday 29 January), so there’s plenty of untracked powder on offer tomorrow.

And friends reported no crowds and face shots at 4pm at Rusutsu today, so a day trip out of the Niseko Resort Area is another possibility for powder.
