Dump a foot of fresh pow and dump on Mt Annupuri four days in a row, mix it with super cold northwest winds being piped down from Siberia, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for bottomless pow everywhere across the Niseko region. To borrow some surfing terminology, it’s pumping, and everyone is stoked, from the groms to the old timers.

The snow has been coming down consistently with periods when it really unloads thick and fast – the kind of weather weather that fills your tracks in by the time you get back up for another run.

All lifts that have opened for the season in Hirafu and Hanazono are running today, but Annupuri and Niseko Village look to be on hold for now. Keep an eye on them because once they open there will be some very tasty lines to be had over that way.

More of the same expected today, and the forecast winds look to holding off so fingers crossed the lifts will keep running all day.

Winds and snow easing tomorrow and over the next few days before another solid system coming through at the end of the week.

Let the good times roll!
