Entering its third year, Niseko Tourism’s official photography and film contest, The Niseko Shootout, has snowballed into one of the region’s fastest growing events.
The Niseko Shootout Instagram Contest kicks off when the resort opens and is a season-long photo competition.
Simply hashtag your pics #nisekoshootout to enter!
The Shootout has grown to incorporate two major events through the season:
The Niseko Shootout ProAm from January 9-12 – a photo contest in which athlete-photographer teams (professional and amateur alike) enter the best image they capture within a four-day window. Last winter the ProAm attracted some impressive talent, with internationally published photographers and a stellar cast of pro and Olympic skiers and riders including Torah Bright, Pep Fujas and Chris Benchetler.
The Niseko Shootout Short Film Fest, held on March 14, showcases the best Niseko-themed short films made within the previous 15 months. Held towards the end of winter, the Short Film Fest acts as the Shootout’s grand finale, and last year’s inaugural event packed out the Hanazono base lodge with more than 400 attendees.
This year’s competitions will no doubt be the biggest yet, so pick up your phone and follow @NisekoShootout on Instagram. Or visit NisekoTourism.com/Shootout for all the details on how to enter the comps, or simply enjoy the entries!
