To support those who suffered due to the earthquake and tsunami that hit Tohoku and eastern coastal areas of Japan, the 2nd annual Niseko Charity Event was held on 8 April in Grand Hirafu ski resort.
Over 26 professional skiers and snowboarders and 49 of their fans interested in supporting the fundraiser gathered at Niseko Grand Hirafu.
Outdoor gear and other products from 33 local individuals and companies was auctioned off for a total of 378,685 yen when combined with participation fees and donations.
The funds received in this event and 43,052yen in donations brought in by the NPB office and the Kutchan Tourism Association Hirafu Branch has been sent together to the local government of Fukushima as already announced.
This year local alpine skier, Ryunosuke Okoshi, from Tokyu Resort Service, made an appearance despite his busy race schedule. Thanks for your cooperation, and we look forward to your support in years to come!
