By 18th February 2011August 27th, 2013

Powderlife caught up with MTV and The Hilton this morning to get the latest on the upcoming MTV Japan Jam.

The jump for the snowboard competition taking place next Thursday February 24 was partly constructed this morning. These pictures show only the jump’s landing. The 12-metre table top’s take off should be completed tomorrow morning.

The 10 pro riders chosen for the event, which will include a mix of Japanese and international riders, will be required to tow-in with a snowmobile in attempt to impress the guest judges and the crowd.

The MTV Japan Jam 30+ person travelling tour will include three-piece dance punk band Art vs. Science, Sydney based DJ Anna Lunoe, MTV VJs Erin McNaught and Darren Mc Mullen, guest presenter and snowboard guru Mitch Tomlinson and leading international pro snowboarders, including Vancouver Olympics opening ceremony star Johnny Lyall, Canadian legendary pro Kale Stephens and Japanese Endeavour Snowboards veteran pro Shingo Kawano, with more VIP guests to be announced.
