Niseko Snow Report // January 17, 2010

By 17th January 2010June 28th, 2014Niseko Snow Report

Niseko. Bluebird. A foot of fresh.

Could there be anywhere better than right here right now? If there is it would have to be pretty darn special because that’s what today is here in Niseko!

Great visibility, warmer temps, and deep cover means that many people will be having the best day of their skiing lives today. Even notoriously camera-shy Mt Yotei may poke her face out of the clouds to see what’s going on, and there will be plenty going on I’m sure.

Light snow flurries are expected today and for the next couple of days until the next big dump hits mid-week.

Peak Gates are scheduled to open at 10.30, but Avalanche Risk is posted as high! Please don’t step into the backcountry if you’re not very confident and understand something of avalanches. There are lots of good guides around to show you safe fun, and at least talk with the Ski Patrol & check the latest Avvy Info here.

Get out there and carve yourself a slice of heaven!
