Niseko Snow Report // January 15, 2010

By 15th January 2010June 28th, 2014Niseko Snow Report

Wow… Hard not to lapse into superlatives on a morning like today… I thought yesterday was great… but today looks even better! Sixty cms of fresh, more to come, the snow base just keeps on getting deeper and deeper.

Moderate winds from the NW may strengthen a touch during the day. Temps up high, especially with wind chill factored in, will be chilly. Dress warm, today might even be a good day to drag out the face warmer as there’s a predicted Wind Chill of -31 up high! If the winds do pick up much lift operation may be disrupted.

Gates should open today but the snow of the last two days means that Avvy danger is high – check the latest info here – and if you’re not very confident, best stick to the front mountain edges & trees. They’ll be some of the best skiing you’ll ever get on days like today.

Have fun out there!
