It is dumping snow… 20 cm of fresh pow!!

20 cm of fresh snow has accumulated in Niseko in the 12 hours to 7am.

Snowfall estimated: 30 cm
Temperature:  -13 °C
Wind:  WNW 15 m/s

Conditions observed in Niseko Town (139m)
Snowfall observed: 20 cm
Temperature:
  -8 °C
Wind: WNW 4 m/s

It was really dumping yesterday. I went to Grand Hirafu and had fantastic time in deep powder. It was cold and windy, I was freezing but had super fun!!

Today is even deeper!! I woke up earlier as I want to ride “Super course” at Grand Hirafu today. I want to be at Center 4 lift and line up for the first chair! I love this longest un-groomed speed course for deep powder day. It’s also super cold again, don’t forget another layer and face mask otherwise you will be freezing. Please don’t duck any rope, Niseko’s rope means a lot and serious.

There is a quite strong cold front up in the north. It’s the typical Japanese winter climate. More snow is falling…
