Huge snowfalls hit Niseko

By 28th December 2008June 28th, 2014Niseko Snow Report

AFTER a subdued lead in to Christmas the real Niseko has returned as winter arrived with a bang.

A cumulative snowfall of over 1.5metres has fallen on Niseko since December 25 and the forecast is for continued snow every day into the New Year.

December 26 saw most of the mountain close due to high winds and they were closed again in the afternoon of December 27. The winds died down yesterday and last night’s night session was epic.

The wind is calm now and the snow is fantastic.  The bamboo is almost completely covered and the backcountry gates should be open any day.

If you already in Niseko or about to get here, you’re in for a great time. Keep an eye on our snow report to make sure you know when and where it’s going to fall.
