Dump of the Season Hits Niseko

By 17th January 2009August 27th, 2013

Niseko was blanketed in 65cm of snow in the three days from January 14-17. A low pressure system moved in from Siberia ensured the snow was dry and light, the type of snow Niseko has become famous for.

The 2008/2009 season has seen Niseko receive over 5metres of snow already in the village and no doubt up to 7 metres on the mountain. With other resorts in Hokkaido and the mainland are a little down on regular figures, skiers in Niseko have been treated to great conditions with no period of longer than four days without snowfall since December 10.
