15 cm of fresh snow has accumulated in Niseko in the 12 hours to 7am.

Conditions at Hirafu midway station (820m)
Snowfall estimated: 20 cm
Temperature:  -13 °C
Wind:  NW 14 m/s

Conditions observed in Niseko Town (139m)
Snowfall observed: 15 cm
Temperature:
  -6 °C
Wind: WNW 4 m/s

It’s still windy but not snowing this morning. I went to Grand Hirafu yesterday. It was very stormy and cold. Top lifts and Hanazono #3 were closed but I enjoyed lots of fresh snow from King #3 lift.

After the big storm, mountains change their shape. Snow is super deep at upper area today. Take wider/longer ski or snowboard, otherwise you will be stuck or drown in deep powder. Skiers are better wear ski tracers. It’s hard to find missing ski in this deep snow. I will go to Niseko Village and wait for Gondola running.

Winter weather system has been set and it will snow more. Have a good DAY!!
