A Successful Summer in Niseko

By 21st September 2011August 27th, 2013

Niseko has been a hive of activity this summer, with most residents calling it their busiest summer in recent memory. Niseko Real Estate’s Ben Kerr said “Beautiful weather welcomed lots of Japanese and overseas guests with summer festivals, golf, trekking, cycling and a wide range of events it was a wonderful summer”. The streets of Hirafu have been busy with olidaymakers seeking reprieve from Southern Japan's heat and humidity and taking advantage of the deals on offer for the luxurious accommodation.

Comments from visitors indicate they are pleasantly surprised by the quality and convenience of Hirafu's condominiums, restaurants and local activities, retiree Junichi Nakazawa “This is my first trip to Niseko for almost 20 years. I had heard from a friend that there had been some change, but we did not realize how much! Good accommodation, food, sports and great weather – there is nothing like this elsewhere in Japan! My family had a wonderful time and will be back for next summer.”
The sudden growth in domestic tourists has also seen more restaurants open and an increase in the events, markets, festivals and activities. With the continued increase in international visitors for the ski season, many are predicting that the future of summer tourism in Niseko will also continue to grow.
