Calmer winds, a higher cloud base and lots of fresh snow add up to a great start to our weekend here in Niseko. If we're lucky the sun should burn off this early morning cloud leaving blue skies for part of the day at least – though I'd doubt that Ms Yotei will bless us with her visage…
Looking ahead, we'd expect only snow showers and generally clear conditions for the next day or two before the next system arrives mid-week.
The whole mountain should be open today – including some of the gates – check your lift movements here and for a detailed backcountry report check this link. Be aware that there will be some heavily loaded slopes out the back – talk with the patrollers before you head out and understand the terrain you're riding.
Being a weekend expect the slopes to be a little more crowded than normal and ski / ride accordingly. And most importantly have a great day out there!!!
