Niseko Snow Report // 02 February // 2012

By 2nd February 2012June 28th, 2014Niseko Snow Report

A beautiful morning this morning – though no doubt powderhounds would be less than happy with the light dusting we received last night. The groomers will be tip-top, kept in good shape by the chilly temps and the low skier numbers. And blue skies and cool temps are always welcome.

If you're just arriving you've timed it well. A cruisy "On-Piste" day to get your ski legs back ahead of expected snow this afternoon and into tomorrow. By the time you're back into it there should be more than enough fresh snow around for some off-piste adventures…

We are looking at another cool day up on the hill – rug up – as winds are expected to increase through the day in exposed areas.

For current lift movements have a look at this link, or get your indepth backcountry info here. Peak gates will be closed today. Wind is as big (many say bigger!) a factor in Avalanches than snowfall and last night's strong winds will have done a good job of scouring some slopes and loading others… Less than ideal riding conditions anyway.

Be safe. Have fun.
