We're actually only getting the northern tip of an expansive system that has seen heavy snow across the length of Japan's major islands. Pity the hundreds down on Honshu stuck in snow in vehicles for more than 20 hours with no food, toilet, etc. Eeek!! (And you think the shuttle bus is tiresome.) 4 m+ has fallen in some places and caused severe disruptions to transport & infrastructure.
