Niseko Snow Report // 10 February // 2012

By 10th February 2012June 28th, 2014Niseko Snow Report

More of the same today with cool temps and good overnight falls to help maintain the great February conditions here in Niseko. Winds permitting we should have a little more terrain open to us as the #4 lifts are scheduled to open this morning. (You can check your current lift movements here.)

Looking ahead we've got intermittent snow expected pretty much all through the weekend, with hopefully some clearer skies just after that, even if just temporarily! By the looks of things we may have a bit of weather to endure before we see those blue skies though… be warned.

The peak gates are expected to remain closed today due to slippy conditions. When they open again it will be bottomless. There's still lots of fun to be had through the trees and out other gates. Do be wary out there though, ride to the conditions as visibility is looking to be quite limited. (A more detailed backcountry report can be found here.) And don't drop in & blindly follow someone else's tracks thinking they'll bring you back to the resort… not everyone is heading where you are!

Have a good day, and see you on the slopes.

**For those of you looking to escape Niseko for a day, this weekend Sapporo is rocking a couple of great events: The famed Sapporo Snow Festival as well as the Toyota Big Air. Otaru also has their "Yuki Akari" snow festival on at the moment. A day trip to take in any or all of these events is a great way to really round out a Japan holiday, and hitting the bars & clubs of Sapporo is always fun as well!
