Niseko Snow Report // 23 December // 2011

By 23rd December 2011June 28th, 2014Niseko Snow Report

Strong winds are moving a lot of the falling snow into the trees and playing havoc with lift operations today. We'd expect these winds to blow themselves out by early tomorrow – leaving nothing but lots of snow over the coming days. If you're here for a White Christmas (and aren't we all!) then you won't be disappointed… Even Rudolph will be flying by instruments tomorrow night!

As mentioned, the lift operations today will be interupted with lines either closed or running on slow. It might be a good to grab just a couple of hours before chasing down a warming bowl of Ramen then some recuperative time in an Onsen or sampling one of the great coffees around the village…

You can see current lift movements here. The backcountry gates will be closed today & probably tomorrow with everything heavily windloaded. Sketchy conditions at best. Don't even think about doing anything silly as it will all still be there in a day or two…
