Niseko Snow Report // 26 December // 2011

By 26th December 2011June 28th, 2014Niseko Snow Report

Close to half a metre in the last 24 hours sees us at 6.0m for the month – and there's still a week of snow expected! Seven plus metres for December seems more probable than possible now… Bam!

We are getting blown around a lot at the moment, so expect that to impact on lift openings and running speeds. The wind seems to be blowing more on the Grand Hirafu side of the hill so check lift movements here before you head up and consider getting over to the more sheltered Annupuri area. There's so much snow around that if you can get up you'll have a great day… Seek and ye shall find: overhead powder stashes!

Looking ahead there's more snow expected pretty much for the rest of the week, with winds slowly easing from mid-afternoon today.

Out the back will still be very tenuous with the upper gates understandably closed. for more details check the backcountry report here. Respect the conditions & ski / ride safe.
