Niseko Snow Report // March 13 // 2010

By 13th March 2010June 28th, 2014Niseko Snow Report

Just a dusting this morning after a bit of a freeze thaw night down low, higher up should see things in much better condition though.

The biggest influence on the hill today will almost certainly be the wind. A fall of snow is expected but that will be promptly whipped off any exposed areas and deposited in the leeward trees by the strong – and increasing – winds. Lift movements are severly restricted. Hanazono and Annupuri both have NO LIFTS RUNNING. Nivesko Village and Hirafu have only the very lowest lifts open.) To check current lift movements click here, then click on the area you want to ski / ride.

By the time the lifts open the mountain will have returned to it’s typical March state as one giant funpark – especially with the Gentem bowl session set for this weekend. The snake run / bowl looks great – especially for all us old skater types. It was pretty crusty this morning but I’m expecting that will change through the morning. Definitely worth checking if you have a chance!

Back country gates are not scheduled to open today but check this link for updated Avalanche info.
