Niseko Snow Report // February 01 // 2010

By 1st February 2011June 28th, 2014Niseko Snow Report

More snow overnight, a slight repreive this morning, then flurries through into early afternoon…

What an amazing couple of days! In the village there's been mayhem as the snow clearing just hasn't been able to keep pace with the huge volumes coming down. And at altitude there has been even more! (Drifts to more than 3m in places!)

Again the pistes will be in great condition – wide fast and deep – and if you're chasing freshies you should be able to get amongst some pretty without looking too far. Anywhere not open at night will be fun fun fun… but heck… even the deeply covered groomers will rock on morning like this! There might even be some occassional blue skies today.

Looking forward we're expecting good conditions for the next few days, broken clouds with scattered sun at times.

Gate openings will depend on conditions and have yet to be announced. Most slides occur just after storms like this so please be super careful if you're thinking of heading out and talk with patrol about the faces and the lines you're of. And check the daily avalanche report here.
