Niseko Snow Report // February 10 // 2010

By 10th February 2011June 28th, 2014Niseko Snow Report

A great sunrise over Mt Yotei greeted Niseko's early risers this morning – no matter how many times I see it it's always impressive.

Light snow and low winds overnight, with blue skies early ahead of more of the same through today. Looking ahead we've got a few days before the next big snowfall – great conditions to work on your google tan! All in all another great day on the slopes.

If you can, these next few days would be great to get down to Sapporo for the amazing "Snow Festival", or Otaru for the "Yuki Akari" snow illumination. The snow festival can be viewed in the day – though does look better at night – while the Yuki Akari is only worth a visit at night. Simply check with your accommodation front desk as there are tours that head down, or you could hire a car and drive yourself… A great off snow day – but only for the next few days!

Expect all the gates to be open today but check the latest backcountry report here before you head out and know the conditions and terrain before blindly following an unknown track.
