Niseko Snow Report // January 30 // 2010

By 30th January 2010June 28th, 2014Niseko Snow Report

A great morning to hit the hill – loads of fresh and good visibility. No wind, not too cold, and not too many people in the village to track out the pow. Everyone should be smiling today! Get out and make the most of it…

While it’s clear now more heavy snow is expected tonight and into tomorrow. All in all a fantastic time to be in Niseko!!

Hanazono # 2 chair is also back at full speed after a mechanical problem yesterday.

Avalanche bombing started very early today in the Mizuno No Sawa area which is usually a sign of some significant snow build up. Be aware of that if you’re stepping into the backcountry. Gates should be open at 9.30. Check the latest avalanche info here before you go, and if you’re not 100% sure where you are heading, don’t! A group had to be rescued last week after blindly following someone else’s advice.

Go grab yourself a few nice deep turns, and remember to take get some pics to show the guys back home. Today will be a great day for it – if you can get people to stop for long enough! Enjoy…
