Niseko Snow Report // February 21 // 2010

By 21st February 2010June 28th, 2014Niseko Snow Report

Low overnight temps and zero wind mean that this morning’s conditions will be simply superb up on the hill. 25 cms or so in the last 24hrs.

There will be something for everyone, with pillow-soft cover over the groomers for those wanting some relaxed turns on the piste; and for the powder hounds among you yesterday’s wind blown drifts will be very deep indeed.

Expect another decent snowfall tomorrow night to make us happier still!

If you do plan to head out back check the latest Avalanche Reports here. Be aware that wind-loaded slopes may even be experiencing natural avalanches today, so ride smart and be on the lookout for any signs of instability. Even if the gates open, the avvy danger will probably be high to extreme in some areas. If you don’t have the knowledge / experience / equipment to evaluate that level of conditions and know where those areas are, maybe stick to the lightly treed leeward slopes out from Gate 5. That area should be cherry this morning.

Enjoy your turns today. I know I will!
