First Snowfall of 2011/12 season

By 2nd October 2011June 28th, 2014Niseko Snow Report

THE first snowflakes of the coming winter have fallen on Niseko.

Every autumn there is great expectation in Niseko of the arrival of the first snowfall of the season.

This weekend saw a generous cover of snow on the iconic local dormant volcano Mt Yotei on Saturday afternoon.

Sunday saw a dusting of snow upon the principal mountain for skiers in Niseko, Mt Annupuri.

The snow fell down to as low as 800 metres and the white caps remaining on the mountain are a sign to powder lovers that the long wait for winter will soon be over and skis and snowboards can be brought out again.
