Baby steps towards season 09/10

By 12th November 2009June 28th, 2014Niseko Snow Report

IT’S a little hard to get too excited about the dustings we got the last couple of days after the dump we got at the start of the month.

But inch by inch, we’re edging towards the resort opening on November 21, Saturday week… just 9 days away.

Last season we hadn’t had much snow at all until a storm moved through on the 18th and dropped almost 150cm by official opening day November 22.

There had been so much snow it actually opened top to bottom – often there isn’t (officially) enough snow down low to ski all the way down and you guests have to catch the lift down at the end of their session (unless they want to risk losing their season pass on the first day of the season!).

More light and potentially moderate snowfall is forecast over the next few days, so even if a big storm doesn’t come through, there is still a chance we could be skiing/boarding on opening day.

We’ve just moved our site across to new platform and it’s not quite finished, so we haven’t got all our snow forecast feeds up and running yet. But they’ll be back any day now so stay tuned!
