THE most sustained snowfalls to hit Niseko in years have relentlessly belted the Hokkaido ski town with close to 3m of accumulated powder in the past week. 

SNOW has continued to fall on the higher peaks around Niseko with the peak of Mt Yotei now with enjoying a good base of snow.

Cold, rainy weather over the past week has ensured snow has been consistently dusting the top quarter to third of the mountain, with large amounts of snow looking to be accumulating in gullies.
