Construction soon to start at Capella Niseko
Annupuri Land, a Hong Kong capital real estate/development/investment company, has announced construction of their newest extravagant resort Capella Niseko in the Annupuri area will begin next month with its grand opening scheduled for August 2012. The resort is to integrate exclusive facilities including an all-suite hotel and condominiums operated by The West Paces Hotel Group who runs a number of luxurious resorts widely around the globe. Uranaka Demolition nears completion
The owners of Lodge Uranaka have made a strong first step towards the revitalisation of Hirafu-zaka with the demolition of the former lodge. Redevelopment of this major access point to Niseko’s international resort will increase the visitor appeal of the town as a whole and have a positive effect on tourist experiences. Though details are closely guarded, we’re very excited about the new project which is set to begin next year. Managed planning and development has been a crucial factor in the growth of successful resorts such as Whistler, and if Niseko is to continue to grow as a resort we can certainly learn from the experiences of others. The Hirafu-zaka redevelopment project, in conjunction with significant individual ventures such as the Uranaka site and others currently in planning, will help move Niseko up to the next level as an international destination. -
This weekend lights up with the Hirafu Matsuri
This weekend lights up with the Hirafu Matsuri This Saturday (August 21) from 3:00pm till 9:00pm will see the first Hirafu Matsuri at Sunsports. Come on down for Bon Dancing, Fireworks, Taiko Drumming and a Bonfire as well as a range of stalls selling all the classic Japanese festive foods and drinks. The festival will be Niseko's uniquely international take on the classic Japanese Bon Odori, so if you've got a Yutaka, wear it! There are giveaways for kids and fun for all so get your friends together and let's make the most of this fantastic summer weather while it's here... Niseko Cycle Week 2010, 10-20 September

1st Niseko HANAZONO Hill Climb a great success
Last Sunday saw a strong field of 239 competitors surge up the 15.5 kms from Kutchan to Goshiki Onsen. There was great representation from the local lads but in the end a rider from Asahikawa, Brian Barkhouse proved too strong for everyone. The event itself went off without any major hitches thanks to the efforts of a small army of volunteers. Thanks to all of them.
